Congress is bailing out everyone. So let's give some tribute to people bailing. Got a good wipeout, yard sale, crash, wreck, endo, digger or whatever else you call it? Then post it!

Maybe I'll pick you to win some of my gear.

Stoked I got through a ride without any failures.  Day 1 on my fresh new Santa Cruz Nomad was cut short by my chain breaking.  Day 2 I snapped off my rear derailer.  Bike sat for a few days then I got back on it and hit up a sick trail Grant Barta took me to.  I've heard lots about Dirty Harry, but never got out there.  From the top there is an incredible view of Lake Tahoe on one side and on the other Glenshire/Truckee and Prosser, Boca and Stampeed Lakes.  We even found some snow up high.  Dirty Harry is a fun ride with smooth banks, jumps and rock drops.  Heard there is a ton more up there and that wasn't even scratching the surface.  This is the best time of the year to mtn bike.  Dirt is tacky.  Or maybe it's my new ride.

Last May I checked out Spyder's testing on race suits and ski cross pants at the Low Speed Wind Tunnel in San Diego, CA. Then talked about the world of ski cross and it's Olympic debut!

The kids came out for their weekly inspection today on the insulation, sheetrock, pocket doors, siding, comp roof, gas meter and Salty's rock work.

I've got to give a shout out to Renthal for the hook up on my CRF450R 2010.  I'm as excited as these two...who needs a candy shop???

I'm a week late on posting this pic of Opening Day at Mammoth, but it's still worth it.  Skiing in Cali at a resort October 16th is incredible. The word was out in Truckee last Thursday that Mammoth's first day of the year was free.  That brought out all the Tahoe, Reno, Mammoth and SoCal freeloaders out to mob Chair 1 by the thousands.  Heard 5,000 to be exact.  To everyone's delight Mammoth opened up Chair 23 to the top.  Creamy Cali smooth butter for all those who made the trip to ski.

Winter is here so get yourself or pass on to a friend the hook up on 2010 skis, boots, bindings, helmets, poles, wax, suits, clothes right HERE!

I'm excited to announce that I have partnered up with the Jacques brothers at RaceSkis.com / Ski Depot.  If you ask me, I'd say I'm on the best equipment the industry has to offer.  There is no compromise on the hill and that's what I want to pass onto every skier.  With these 4 brands I've had direct input in design and proven results.  When they hit the market I'm proud to know that other skiers will experience the benefits in performance, safety and style.  I rely on my gear to give me the advantage in ski cross comps, racing, big mtn skiing, back country and just every day resort skiing at Sugar Bowl and resorts around the world.  I'm able to make this happen and now directly connect YOU to the best gear with the best service from people I trust and respect in the industry.  In an effort to connect skiers with ATOMIC skis, boots, bindings, SPYDER race and outerwear, SWIX wax, overlays, tools and GIRO helmets, just click on the RaceSkis.com button on my home page.  Now wax em up and GO SKI!

I had to blow off the gym and take a hike up Sugar Bowl today.  A storm is rolling in and 3-6inches of rain and some snow is expected tomorrow.  So I took the pups and my sister's dog Toughie.  Celebrating 70 years Sugar Bowl opens the new Summit Chair. It provides easy access to the in bounds terrain of Judah Bowl we've hiked in the past and points beyond.  Like skiing to Donner Lake or quick shots down the back side and a short boot back in bounds.  Also new for 09/10, the Backcountry Adventure Center.  It features profesionally guided tours in and out of Sugar Bowl w/ Alpine Skills International.  For lots of fun in the snow and sun this season, get your season pass here at www.sugarbowl.com/seasonpass to buy online or call 530 426 6783. Sign up before 10/31 for the best prices of the year.  IT'S YOUR TURN!

First day back in Tahoe after a month down in SoCal surfing, training for winter, taking the kids and dogs to the beach and logging good time with Michelle, her family and friends I had to blast up KT.  I missed Shane's tribute day and MSP's "In Deep" Tahoe premiere when the memorial Golden Eagle was set in stone on top of Eagle's Nest now known as McConkey's.  This iron eagle is perched on top of what looks like a sheer wall in the summer, but come winter snow cakes to the pitch and it's skiable. My first glimpse of it was half way up my hike.  It was only a speck, but it had presence of looking over everything below.  That moment was powerful and I became more excited to get up there by it's side.  Chevy and Streif kept powering up the mountain and I did my best to keep up.  Standing on top with no snow felt wierd and sketchy with the big drop.  Having skis on makes me more comfortable with heights.  Even better would be a set of wings to take flight and soar.  That's what Shane felt.  He did fly.  His spirit lives on and I'll be stoked when winter delivers so I can drop in on McConkey's!

MSP's "In Deep" premiere yesterday in Squaw October 3rd was sent a sign from above.   Saturday afternoon a group of close friends hiked from the parking lot to the top of KT in a tribute to Shane McConkey.  A Golden Eagle sculpture designed by Sherry and brought to life by our friends the Standteiners from The Mountain Forge in Truckee was mounted on top of McConkey's formerly know as Eagles Nest.  Junior incredibly hiked with the group, but came up 50ft short.  Sticking to safer ground(he's afraid of heights) he took it in and for a tough guy like he is, actually shed a tear for our local hero Mr Shane McConkey. Shane's ashes were spread and and an hour later the ground was turning white.  It snowed during the 3 show premiere and stoked everyone a little more while watching last seasons high lites of MSP's winter.
