The skies cleared up over night after a fat storm that unleashed 38 inches on us the last 36hrs. It took 40 mins to get to the Bowl today (usually a 20min drive) and when I rolled into the parking lot at 8:55am Disney was already getting crushed by the early birds. No problem getting fresh tracks, but it's always better when you get the first crack. I posted two new videos from my VHoldR Twenty20 camera. A little taste of my day. D

I've been on the road the last week in Austria with my bro Axle Naglich "Nagel" (nail in german) exploring new areas I've never been to and re visiting Kitzbuhel and St Anton. We've already skied Fiber Brunn, Sport Gastein, Kitzbuhel, Krippenstein and the Arlberg area...St Anton and Stuben. The last snow fall was 10 days ago so that makes us work for fresh tracks. Lots of hiking. I'm filming for Warren Miller's film next season. Traveling in the bus is awesome. We finish skiing and then hang in our land yacht while the driver Stefan takes us to a new ski town. On the search for good snow has been difficult, but the terrain is amazing. We are finding some sweet skiing, but lots of sweat has been going into it. I'll be posting some pics soon and a few more details.

Live to ski! Daron

Today was one of those days I flet like a hack on skis. This sort of course does not play into my strengths, but really shows off my weakness. And that is my start. In four heats I was beat out of the start everytime by the other three guys. The top half was brutal for me. It was slow and didn't have any sections where there was much room to make a pass after building speed in the corners. From one turn to the next you could build speed, but then get shut down going into the next turn. Long straights or long turns with terrain in them allow for more passing. I put a few good moves down in the heats leading up to the final, but when it mattered I didn't pull it off. I got stuck in the back and battled to the end without putting a pass on. Going for outside to inside moves, but never capitalized. 1st Davey Barr Canada / 2nd Casey Puckett USA / 3rd Michael Schmid Switz / 4th me USA. Frustrated and pissed, but clear to me now that I need to put some effort into improving my explosive move out of the gate.

I posted a new video from a practice run here in Deer Valley, UT World Cup. This course will be tough to pass on due to the stacked lay out with turns, but I have a few places in mind that hopefully will work if I need them. Zach Crist is the man I'm chasing down. Enjoy, Daron
