Start practice officially started for me today on the 100th day to Vancouver. Sacramento's News Channel 3 Deirdre Fitzpatrick took over a starters roll and dropped the gate. (For some reason I'm not able to load the video here so take a look: http://twitter.com/drahlves )

Stoked I got through a ride without any failures. Day 1 on my fresh new Santa Cruz Nomad was cut short by my chain breaking. Day 2 I snapped off my rear derailer. Bike sat for a few days then I got back on it and hit up a sick trail Grant Barta took me to. I've heard lots about Dirty Harry, but never got out there. From the top there is an incredible view of Lake Tahoe on one side and on the other Glenshire/Truckee and Prosser, Boca and Stampeed Lakes. We even found some snow up high. Dirty Harry is a fun ride with smooth banks, jumps and rock drops. Heard there is a ton more up there and that wasn't even scratching the surface. This is the best time of the year to mtn bike. Dirt is tacky. Or maybe it's my new ride.

I just saw a new movie trailer from matchstick (in deep), and im jealous! Looks awsome and a dream for every skier.
For the ski cross training: I´m training very hard right now, 4 times in the gym , 4 times outdoor for endurance and 2 times some exercises for balance, in a week. All exercises are ski specific and elaborate with the university of sports and science in Innsbruck. I can send you some training examples but not on your website. after some days of holiday i will concentrate on my physical training, because i recognized this winter in a club in Vancouver that i have to train a lot more for following armwrestling contest.

we are all a bit depressed right now and we can not believe what happend the last days.
I don´t know if it helps, but the whole austrian skiing community (freeskier, ski crosser, freestyle skier) everyone who loves his sequences, his personality and his awsome skiing style, offers deepest sympathy for him!
He will be always in our mind and never be forgotten! |
